Jianan Wang is a 2D animator and illustrator based in New York, currently pursuing an MFA in Computer Arts at the School of Visual Arts. She holds a BFA in Animation from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijing. Drawing from personal experiences and a cultural background deeply rooted in Chinese folklore, traditional theater, and modern cultural themes, Jianan explores storytelling through animation, storyboarding, and graphic novels. With a strong foundation in hand-drawn animation and digital tools, Jianan continues to explore new ways of visual storytelling, blending traditional and digital techniques to create emotionally compelling narratives.
